The Corrosion Resistance of Hard Anodised EN AW 7075 T6 Alloy

In this paper, commercially cold-rolled and artificial aged EN AW 7075 T6 alloy has been used. To ensure increased corrosion resistance, surface hardness, scratching aesthetic features, aluminium was subsequently hard anodised hot-water sealed (AC-A). The anodizing sealing process hardness up to 304±13 HV 1 from an initial of 194±3 1. Also, the microhardness layer bulk material documented. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) used for microstructure trapped precipitates investigation in 42.9±1.4 thick formed investigation. treated (AC) together with (AC-A) properties were evaluated using anodic potentiodynamic polarisation tests (PPT) a neutral 2.5% NaCl deaerated solution. rate CR (mm/y) decreased approx. 39-times (AC-A), associated shift E corr (mV) more positive values, degreased Icorr (µA) Rp (Ohm) values compared alloy. Additionally, pitting laser confocal microscopy, coefficient also calculated.
